Ubuntu and Firefox update (#E15)

Funny how UI changes in some of the most popular websites on earth can nudge you upgrading stuff. Oh, and how crappy (defective) hardware can finally flip the switch.

I’ve recently heard about the Ubuntu 20.10 release (Groovy Gorilla), which made me remember I’m still on 18.04 LTS (Bionic Beaver). Since I’m only jumping from LTS to LTS releases as my hardware gets older, I was determined to make the 20.04 (Focal Fossa) jump once I hit 256 days of uptime with my laptop.

I didn’t. Testing some old, almost forgotten, Ultrabay slice battery last week

Theme Font & Size Changer for Thunderbird 64.6 fixes (#E6F4)

Yeah, f*ck me, why am I doing this.

Okay, so after a few requests and complaints about issues with TB 60.2.1 and 63b1, I spent the last hours digging deeper. That’s a mess, and not only on the code side of this addon, but also in terms of Mozilla. Well, who would have thought.

64.6 was just uploaded to the TB repository, could take a week to get that approved. Took care of zoom field and fonts list, also updated some more stuff that got disabled already or will get disabled in the near future.

Zoom. Not as in the Mazda cars, but as in layout.css.devPixelsPerPx. That actually was set to an oncommand on the text box itself, which, after I finally got it to break in 60.2.1, never again worked in previous versions. […]

Chart of Electromagnetic Radiations – vectorized (#P5)

Hey – I never met you and this is crazy…but here’s my first piece, so help me maybe? (umm, I had to look this up, for sure)

When watching good ol’ Dave’s mailbags, number 940 to be precise (starting at the 9 minute mark), I was instantly hooked when he showed the gorgeous physics poster. Being a qualified physics nerd myself and obviously having too much free time, I had the idea of…vectorizing it. For the greater good, in that case, nerdgasms in posters beyond A0 size. (is there a format beyond ANSI F for you weird yankee letter format guys?) […]
