Fake Akasa PCIe 6pin to ATX12V 8pin adapter (WHL #41)

Ah well, we haven’t been to adapterland for quite a while, have we?

I do have more pressing things to do as of now, but whatever. I bought an adapter cable for my new server setup at home, as basically all SFX PSUs with moderate wattage (sub-500, 600W?) do not offer more than one 4+4-Pin or 8-pin ATX12V/EPS12V power plug. Well, why should they, that’s not what they usually need to have. But most server boards, especially dual and quad processor boards, do “require” 2×8-Pin auxiliary power. On the contrary, there is no powerful GPU in that system, so the 6/8-Pin PCIe power cable would flap around in the breeze. […]

20cm 8″ inch ATX 4 Pin Male to 4Pin Female PC CPU Power Supply Extension Cable Cord Connector Adapter (WHL #14F1 – first follow-up)

Triple-follow-up to the WHL #14 article about the 4-Pin extension cables for desktop computer mainboards.

Aaand, what do you know, both were the very same make as already shown in #14. Both failed with clouds of smoke when putting 5 amps or more on them, and of course I started disputes for both of them (one pending, one resulted in a quick refund). […]

2016 New 8″ inch ATX 4 Pin Male to 4Pin Female PC CPU Power Supply Extension Cable Cord Connector Adapter 1PC Hot 20cm (WHL #14)

Religious holidays, you gotta love them. Short (pun intended) review today: A plain old power extension cable for your PC, one of the 12V supply cables to the motherboard. I don’t really know why I ordered it back in January, but I guess it was in preparation for upgrading one of the 19″ cases as a gaming rig. Which hasn’t been built yet, because the bloody display manufacturers only ship crappy 3440×1440 displays with ridiculous FreeSync ranges..or even without. In 2016! It’s not rocket science!

So, what do we have? […]
