Breadboard friendly Four Decade Programmable Resistor Board, 1%, 1/4W, KIT (WHL #25)

Got some more Open Hardware today! Not mine, though…it’s a four decade resistor adapter from luftek, who apparently comes from Slovenia. He has a github repository for his project called Dekada if you want to check it out (literal git checkout is also possible :) ). I happened to buy Version 0.1 back in September 2016 for dirt-cheap 1.99 USD per unit – I bought two pieces via eBay, directly from luftek. 20cm 8″ inch ATX 4 Pin Male to 4Pin Female PC CPU Power Supply Extension Cable Cord Connector Adapter (WHL #14F1 – first follow-up)

Triple-follow-up to the WHL #14 article about the 4-Pin extension cables for desktop computer mainboards.

Since publishing the article, I managed to order two more cables from CHAINA, two different sellers, with very similar product description. At the end of January, both have arrived and have been tested immediately.
Aaand, what do you know, both were the very same make as already shown in #14. Both failed with clouds of smoke when putting 5 amps or more on them, and of course I started disputes for both of them (one pending, one resulted in a quick refund). […]

2016 New 8″ inch ATX 4 Pin Male to 4Pin Female PC CPU Power Supply Extension Cable Cord Connector Adapter 1PC Hot 20cm (WHL #14)

Religious holidays, you gotta love them. Short (pun intended) review today: A plain old power extension cable for your PC, one of the 12V supply cables to the motherboard. I don’t really know why I ordered it back in January, but I guess it was in preparation for upgrading one of the 19″ cases as a gaming rig. Which hasn’t been built yet, because the bloody display manufacturers only ship crappy 3440×1440 displays with ridiculous FreeSync ranges..or even without. In 2016! It’s not rocket science!

So, what do we have? […]

Today’s item is one that I needed for my smallish light box. I had some makeshift connections when building it, including one with a fixed 65 W (original!) Lenovo laptop power supply who unfortunately had a loose power plug. When I finally had three illuminated sides up (with the stuff from WHL #7), I knew I needed to step up to 90 W or even 135 W power supplies for full brightness. But this time, I wanted a detachable power plug, especially to not kill the power supplies for normal use, but also for convenience (the box is quite large and the supply is too heavy to attach it somewhere).
